The ECHP is a transnational panel survey in which a sample of roughly 60,500 nationally represented households (equating to some 130,000 persons aged 16 years and over) were interviewed on an annual basis from 1994-2001 (8 waves). Originally comprising 12 member countries, three more have subsequently joined the survey. This cross-national longitudinal survey asks consistent questions based on topics including: income, health, education, housing, demographics and employment characteristics.
The detailed interview results are stored at Eurostat in the ECHP users' database (UDB). Organisations can purchase an anonymised version of this users' database under strict contractual conditions. A description of this database can be viewed by visiting:
