The LFS provides a range of data on labour market statistics and related topics such as training, qualifications, income and disability; this information then contributes to labour market policies. These sample surveys of households living at private addresses in Great Britain have been carried out since 1973 and have been run quarterly since spring 1992. The survey is conducted by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on behalf of the Department for Education and Skills (DfES). All surveys contain questions covering demographic details, household, qualifications, family structure and basic housing information.
