The MTUS aims to develop and document internationally comparable time diary and demographic information. The project is a collaboration of individuals, universities, and agencies, including the University of Essex and Statistics Sweden. The MTUS allows for in-depth analysis of time-use for many sub-populations, including single mothers and students. The MTUS is a continually growing collection of national studies, and currently encompasses over 50 datasets from 22 countries; it is now incorporating recent data from the Harmonised European Time Use Study (HETUS), and the American Time Use Study (ATUS), and other national level time use projects.
