Seminar Outline

This 3 day event at the University of Manchester on May 16th, 17th and 18th 2007, presents demographic perspectives and contributions to debates on segregation, diversity and integration. The event comprises a one-day conference and two days of workshops. The conference will showcase recent methods and results on population change and diversity and will review the contribution of demographic work to debates on diversity and integration.

The workshops will provide hands-on training in the use and interpretation of measures of diversity, segregation and integration and in methods for monitoring population change for small areas.

The event is organised by the Population and Places (POPLA) research group at the Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research (CCSR). Contributors to the events include Ludi Simpson, David Coleman, Debbie Phillips and Phil Rees.
